About Suamox

Suamox is a Colombian-owned specialty coffee brand based in New York, built on respect for origin, quality, and the people behind each coffee. What we do is not about trends or volume, but about representing Colombian coffee honestly and with care.

The Name

Suamox comes from an indigenous language of Colombia and means “dwelling of the Sun,” the name of a sacred place of the Muisca people. We chose the name to reflect a deep connection to origin, to land, to people, and to the work behind each coffee. As Colombians, this connection is personal. It guides how we select, care for, and represent every coffee we share.

What Specialty Means to Us

In specialty coffee, the word specialty is not a style, it is a standard. Every Suamox coffee is evaluated using the Specialty Coffee Association cupping protocol and scores 83 points or higher. This ensures clarity, balance, and quality in every cup, and sets a clear baseline for how we select the coffees we work with.

Directly from Origin

We work directly with producers and local partners in Colombia, selecting coffees at origin and maintaining close relationships throughout the process. Our coffees are roasted and packed in Colombia, then shipped to us for fulfillment, allowing us to share them directly with customers. They are not sourced from bulk warehouses or anonymous blends.

Why This Matters to Us

As Colombians, coffee is part of our daily life and cultural memory. The regions, farms, and flavors we represent are not abstract, they are familiar. This closeness brings responsibility: to be transparent, to be fair, and to honor the work behind each coffee we share. Suamox exists to represent Colombian coffee with honesty, respect, and care, from origin to cup.
